Indosat Sets 11-Hour TikTok Livestream Record During Eid Peak
Indosat achieved an 11-hour uninterrupted TikTok livestream record during Indonesia's peak Eid travel season, demonstrating network reliability across 75 homecoming routes. The feat showcases how telecom operators leverage content marketing to build brand credibility during high-pressure periods.
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) has received official recognition from Indonesia's World Records Museum (MURI) after two content creators completed an uninterrupted 11-hour TikTok livestream along the Jakarta-to-Yogyakarta Eid homecoming route in 2025.
Creators Complete Non-Stop Livestream Across Indonesia's Busiest Mudik Corridor
Content creators Dave Hendrik and Iwet Ramadhan conducted the continuous broadcast as part of IOH's #DVET programme, titled "The Journey to Become Better." The livestream featured travel stories and guest appearances from multiple personalities, including dr. Dion Haryadi and Ust. Alfie, sustaining audience engagement across the full 11-hour window.
IOH reported an average internet speed of 90 Mbps during the broadcast, with a recorded minimum of approximately 15 Mbps throughout the journey. The session maintained continuous streaming despite the challenges of cell-site handovers on a moving vehicle across a long-distance route.
"From the start of the trip until we were approaching Jogja, everything felt very smooth," Dave Hendrik and Iwet Ramadhan said. "It felt like a long journey shared with millions of people."
Network Prepared Across 75 Routes and 790 Locations
IOH prepared its network across more than 75 major Eid homecoming routes ahead of the travel season. The operator identified over 790 specific locations requiring additional network attention, including toll gates, rest areas, train stations, and bus terminals.

In Greater Jakarta alone, IOH deployed 90 new sites and 11 Mobile BTS units for the Eid period, achieving a 99.6% connection success rate in inner-city areas and 99.3% in outer transit zones. IOH's total 4G base transceiver station count reached 202,179 units, a 10% year-on-year increase.
The operator's AI-driven network management system, called INFINITE, achieved 98% planning accuracy during the Ramadan and Eid period and delivered US$10 million in infrastructure cost savings. AI-powered systems also achieved 37% faster downloads in key Jakarta zones during the same period.
Scale of Eid Travel Created Extreme Network Pressure
The 2025 Eid homecoming season saw an estimated 146.48 million travelers move simultaneously across Indonesia. National data traffic surged 21% during the period, with TikTok recording up to 9.2% traffic growth and WhatsApp increasing 7%. Traffic peaked between 3 PM and 10 PM local time.
Third-party data from Ookla showed improved median download speeds in 64% of Indonesian provinces during Eid 2025 compared to Eid 2024, with Jakarta gaining 9.91 Mbps. IOH CEO Vikram Sinha described the period as "a practical stress test for connectivity, given the scale of simultaneous travel and expectations for consistent service over long distances."
Competitor Telkomsel also expanded 5G coverage across Surabaya, Bali, and the Jabotabek region to handle Eid 2025 traffic, confirming that network validation during the festive season is a priority across the Indonesian telco industry.
Campaign Tied to IOH's Broader Brand Platform
The TikTok record attempt was connected to IOH's #LebihBaikIndosat ("Four Tangible Actions") corporate brand program, covering network reliability, technology relevance, digital protection, and social impact. IOH's Digital Hub apps, myIM3 and bima+, surpassed 50 million monthly active users and 10 million daily users, providing an existing audience base for creator-led activations.
Sinha has positioned IOH's broader strategy around AI-driven infrastructure investment. "As we lay the foundation for a digital and AI-driven Indonesia, we are preparing for the future with high-capacity networks designed to support advanced technologies," he said.
