Prophet Expands Australian Team With Nine Strategic Hires
Decision intelligence firm Prophet hires nine staff across marketing, sales, and engineering as it scales from startup to growth-stage company serving 30+ enterprise clients.
Australian decision intelligence firm Prophet has appointed Lia Carruthers as Marketing Executive and Becky McMillan as Customer Architect, the company announced on March 23, 2026. The hires mark a shift from founder-led marketing toward a structured, team-driven growth model.
Two Roles Built for Scale
Carruthers steps into a newly created marketing role, taking responsibility for brand, content, events, and go-to-market activities. She was named New Zealand's Marketer of the Future at the 2024 YouTube New Zealand Marketing Awards and brings prior brand strategy experience with New Zealand food brand Farrah's.
"The marketing function is evolving from early-stage brand building into a more structured, scalable engine for growth," Carruthers said.
McMillan joins from RMIT University, where she served as Media and Campaign Specialist. She brings over a decade of media and marketing experience across education, government, FMCG, entertainment, and insurance sectors in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Her Customer Architect role focuses on client onboarding, data processes, and helping enterprise clients build digital organizational models using media data sources.
Part of a Nine-Person Hiring Wave
The two appointments are part of a broader expansion that has seen Prophet confirm at least nine named hires across its 2025 to 2026 financial period. Earlier appointments include Vice President of Sales James Sawyer, Head of Marketing Science Rachel Scott (February 2026), sales team members Carl Clasio and Leo Roubos, talent specialist Bec Geyer, and developers Aysa Matueva and Ruxin Ma.

CEO Jordan Taylor-Bartels described the expansion as deliberate. "Prophet is entering an exciting growth phase, as we transition from start-up to scale-up," he said. "We've significantly expanded our team over the past year, investing in building the right foundations across brand, marketing and customer engagement as demand for Prophet's platform grows."
Prophet currently serves over 30 enterprise clients across retail, insurance, automotive, media, travel, wagering, and cybersecurity sectors. Named clients include BYD, MYOB, New Balance, Intrepid Travel, and KitchenAid.
Building Commercial Infrastructure From the Ground Up
Prophet was founded in 2024 by Taylor-Bartels, a former Hyperloop global marketing lead, and Sean Taylor, former chief executive at Ogilvy and VMLY&R Commerce. The company was named the 2025 AFR BOSS Most Innovative Company in the Media and Marketing category, providing third-party recognition of its platform positioning in the marketing science and decision intelligence space.
The hiring pattern reflects a company building dedicated functions across demand generation, customer onboarding, data architecture, and revenue operations within approximately its first two years of operation. The addition of Bec Geyer to lead talent and recruitment signals that this hiring pace is expected to continue. Six additional roles are also planned as part of Prophet's ANZ expansion, following the earlier appointment of Claudia Kidd as Strategic Growth Lead.
Context for Asian Marketing Leaders
For marketing and business leaders across Asia observing the ANZ market, Prophet's expansion offers a real-time example of how a B2B marketing technology company moves from reputation-based growth to a systematized commercial model. The sequencing of hires, covering sales leadership first, then marketing science, then brand and customer architecture, reflects a structured approach to building enterprise sales and retention capabilities in parallel.
Prophet's client roster spanning multiple verticals reduces its dependence on any single sector, supporting the diversified sales motion that its expanded commercial team is now positioned to execute.
