Cosmo5 Is Building a Cross-Market Agency Stack in Southeast Asia
Cosmo5’s Brew Group deal adds 60+ staff and a wider Southeast Asia stack spanning creative, performance, GEO, social and martech.
Cosmo5 has acquired Singapore-headquartered Brew Group, adding more than 60 people across Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Taiwan and taking its Asia-Pacific team to more than 250.
The important part of the deal is not headcount alone. It is the operating model Cosmo5 is building: a cross-market agency stack that combines local execution with creative, performance marketing, media, SEO and generative engine optimisation, social, content and marketing technology.
The Deal Is About Reducing Vendor Fragmentation
Marketing-Interactive reports that Brew Interactive and LiteBrew will continue under their existing brands, with founder Marcus Ho and the current management teams remaining in place. That suggests Cosmo5 is buying local capability and relationships rather than immediately absorbing the agencies into a single regional brand.
Ho said clients increasingly want agencies that can connect specialist capabilities instead of simply adding more vendors. His summary was sharper: “brands no longer need a different agency in every market.”
For regional CMOs, that is the commercial proposition. Southeast Asia still requires local market knowledge, but the coordination burden rises quickly when creative, performance, search, CRM and social sit with separate partners in every country.

Local Depth Is Becoming The Acquisition Target
MARKETECH APAC says Brew Group has operated for 17 years and brings a client portfolio that includes Nikon, Hitachi, LG, Epson, BMW, Shopify and the National University of Singapore. Cosmo5, formerly Labelium, now has more than 1,400 people across 32 offices in 19 countries and 29 specialist agencies.
The acquisition is Cosmo5’s 14th, according to the company announcement. Jean Kerboul, Cosmo5’s Europe and APAC CEO, said the regional team now “grows to over 250 people across Asia-Pacific.”
This gives the group a structure that can sell two things at once: local market access for global brands entering Southeast Asia, and international reach for regional brands that want to expand outside their home markets.

GEO Is Joining The Core Agency Stack
One detail in the capability list deserves attention. Both the company announcement and independent coverage explicitly place SEO and GEO alongside performance marketing, creative production, social, influencer marketing and martech.
That positioning matters because AI visibility is starting to move out of the experimental-services bucket. If brands are expected to manage search visibility, generative discovery, content, paid media and CRM through connected data and messaging, then GEO becomes less useful as a standalone consultancy and more useful as part of the same operating system.
The deal does not prove that integrated ownership automatically produces better outcomes. It does show where agencies expect client demand to move: fewer disconnected specialists, more shared accountability across discovery, content, media and measurement.
The CMO Question Is Integration, Not Logo Count
The risk in agency consolidation is that breadth can look more integrated on a credentials deck than it feels in day-to-day work. Brew’s brands and management are staying in place, so the immediate test is how well Cosmo5 connects planning, data, measurement and decision-making across those specialist units.
For CMOs, the useful questions are operational. Who owns the regional brief? Which data moves across markets and which stays local? How are search, media, content and CRM measured together? Where does one market hand off to another?
Cosmo5’s acquisition of Brew Group is a bet that regional clients want fewer coordination layers without giving up local depth. If that model works, the competitive advantage will not come from having more agencies under one group. It will come from making those capabilities behave like one system.
