Live Commerce Moves From Marketplace Traffic To Paid Reach
Meta's partnership with AnyMind Group connects live video ads to shopping streams across Asia Pacific. The deal could turn livestream commerce into a paid acquisition channel, but CMOs must separate incremental orders from larger audiences, longer streams and attributed sales.
Meta and AnyMind Group announced a partnership on 27 October 2026 to bring paid Facebook and Instagram audiences into livestream shopping. The arrangement links live video advertising with AnyMind's commerce operations, giving brands routes to sell through their own websites, apps, marketplaces or business messaging channels, according to AnyMind's announcement.
Facebook support is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, with integration for Instagram planned for early 2027. This is a distribution agreement, not evidence yet that buying more livestream viewers improves sales efficiency.
The Livestream Gets A Paid Audience
Livestream sales on Shopee and Lazada have typically drawn on shoppers already visiting those marketplaces. Brand-owned broadcasts can reach loyal customers but often require a separate media campaign to find new viewers. The Meta and AnyMind partnership is designed to bring audience acquisition closer to the moment a product is demonstrated and sold.
AnyMind says its network spans 85 live-commerce studios across Asia Pacific. It can run streams led by people, AI avatars, or a combination that switches hosts during less active hours. Streams can also appear across marketplace and brand-owned channels. That makes the proposition broader than placing an advertisement beside an existing broadcast.
Meta product marketing manager Linda Taylor described the aim as making live commerce part of brands' “always-on marketing.” The commercial test is whether continuous reach brings incremental shoppers, not merely longer broadcasting hours.

Distribution And Checkout Remain Different Businesses
The partnership joins three activities that are often managed separately: Meta provides advertising reach, AnyMind handles livestream production and operation, and the merchant or marketplace completes the transaction. Each has different incentives and different visibility into the customer journey.
A brand may attract a new viewer through Facebook but still record the sale inside a marketplace. A sale on a brand-owned site can offer a more direct customer relationship, provided the company has the consent and tracking needed to connect media spending with orders. Neither path automatically produces a complete attribution record.
That distinction changes budget ownership. Regional media teams may fund discovery, ecommerce teams may own conversion, and agency partners may run the show. Without shared definitions of qualified viewers, purchases and contribution margin, each function can claim success against a different metric.

APAC Offers A Test, Not A Proven Formula
Meta has already tested live video advertising beyond this partnership. In a September 30 announcement in South Korea, it said Instagram live ads were available locally, with Dyson and Qoo10 Japan among pilot partners. In an evaluation covering 25 cases, Meta reported a 17.1% increase in purchases and 2.7 times return on ad spend. Those company-reported results concern the Korean product rollout, not AnyMind's new integration.
AnyMind also has practical regional experience. In April, Samsung said it would use AnyLive across eight markets, including Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand, adding a planned 4,450 livestream hours per month. The scale demonstrates how quickly brands can expand operating capacity, but hours on air are not a sales-outcome metric.
Together, the examples suggest the pieces exist for a larger acquisition-to-purchase model. They do not establish what it will cost to run profitably across APAC markets with different languages, shopping platforms and media prices.
CMOs Need To Measure Incremental Orders
For CMOs, the next procurement brief should join paid social, livestream operations and commerce measurement. Run matched market-level tests that compare paid livestream traffic with existing marketplace or organic streams. Separate additional orders from viewers who would have purchased anyway, and include media, host, production and promotion costs.
The same test should identify who can access event-level campaign and sales data, how refunds are handled, and whether the brand can compare performance between its own checkout and a marketplace. Contracts should also assign responsibility for product claims, live moderation and AI-avatar errors.
AnyMind's earlier AnyCreator Stream launch addressed buying and measuring sponsorships around live creators. Its Meta partnership tackles a different constraint: getting new customers into commercial livestreams at the right moment. The two models are related, but sponsorship attention and attributable sales are not interchangeable.
The executive decision is whether to fund livestream commerce as another content line item or test it as a performance channel with transparent customer-acquisition economics. Paid reach will matter only if brands can prove the additional orders it creates.
