Visa Asia Pacific has appointed Alvina Seah as head of its newly created Design and Creative Studio, establishing an in-house creative team to strengthen the payment giant's brand and marketing innovation across the region. Seah, who brings over 20 years of marketing and creative leadership experience, will report directly to Danielle Jin, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Visa Asia Pacific.
The appointment, announced on February 13, marks a strategic shift for Visa as it builds regional creative capabilities during a period of rapid transformation in Asian payment technologies and consumer expectations.
Veteran Agency Leader Joins Visa
Seah joins Visa after spending six years as partner and executive director at GOVT VCCP, where she led creative strategy and client relationships. Her career also includes senior roles as managing director at BBDO Worldwide and general manager at Energy BBDO, along with earlier positions at Proximity Singapore and TBWA\Group Singapore.

In her new role, Seah will establish and lead the in-house creative function focused on driving marketing innovation and supporting business growth across Asia Pacific. The move comes as Visa executes high-profile regional campaigns, including a recent athlete-led storytelling initiative for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and a campaign featuring BLACKPINK's Jennie Kim titled "Visa presents JENNIE Road to Ruby."
"Culture is evolving before our eyes and a new generation of consumers and businesses is emerging with different expectations about how to pay and be paid," Seah said. "As creatives, the closer we are to the business, the faster we learn and the more impact we can make."
Regional Innovation Push Accelerates
Visa's decision to build in-house creative capabilities comes as the company expands beyond traditional payment processing into AI-driven commerce and creator economy support. In May 2025, Visa launched Visa Intelligent Commerce, offering APIs that enable AI platforms to integrate secure payments, with pilot programs involving Ant International, Grab, and Tencent across the region.
The company's 2025 Creator Report revealed that 88% of TikTok creators rely on personal funds while 52% receive cross-border payments, highlighting financial complexity in the creator economy that Visa aims to address through innovative payment solutions. Visa has also piloted an automated Creator Agent tool with Karat Financial to help content creators manage business finances.
Visa's regional strategy emphasizes localized innovation through initiatives including a revamped Singapore Innovation Center for co-creating payment solutions with partners, the Thailand Security Roadmap 2025 incorporating AI defenses and tokenization, and the #TravelWithVisa Tap to Ride program spanning more than 10 Asia Pacific cities.
Building Creative Autonomy
The appointment represents a broader industry trend of financial services brands establishing dedicated regional creative infrastructure to compete more effectively in diverse Asian markets. While Visa maintains centralized leadership with Stephen Karpin as President of Asia Pacific and T.R. Ramachandran leading Products and Solutions, Seah's role adds new creative capabilities tailored to regional market dynamics.
Seah emphasized Visa's deep integration into regional commerce and culture, noting the company's role in "delivering secure and seamless payments to enabling everyone to pursue their passions with our partners." Her appointment signals Visa's commitment to building creative capacity that can respond quickly to evolving consumer expectations across Asia Pacific's diverse markets.
