Why BBDO Bangkok Redesigned the CCO Role for Data-Driven Work
BBDO Bangkok redesigned the Chief Creative Officer role to embed creativity, data, and technology throughout client projects rather than at the end. Pathida Akkarajindanon leads the shift.
BBDO Bangkok has appointed Pathida "Jern" Akkarajindanon as Chief Creative Officer, effective April 1, 2026, structuring the role around the agency's "Precision Creative" model that embeds creativity, data, and technology throughout the client process rather than concentrating creative oversight at the end of a project.
A CCO Role Designed to Break Convention
CEO Somkiat Larptanunchaiwong confirmed the appointment was deliberately structured to depart from conventional creative hierarchies.

"This is not a traditional CCO appointment and that's intentional," said Larptanunchaiwong. "We believe the best work today doesn't happen at the end of the process. It happens throughout it, in partnership with our clients where creativity, data, and technology come together to drive real growth."
Akkarajindanon brings more than 15 years of experience working across agencies in Thailand and China. She most recently served as Executive Creative Director at Wolf BKK before returning to BBDO Bangkok in the CCO capacity. Her brand portfolio includes KFC Thailand, Central Department Store, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Krungsri Bank, and HBO Max Asia.
Akkarajindanon holds the No. 3 ranking in Thailand and No. 30 ranking in Asia on Campaign Brief Asia Creative Rankings. She is also recognized as the top-ranked female creative in Thailand on Campaign Brief Asia's "Top 40 Most Awarded Women in Advertising" list.
Precision Creative Positions the CCO as Process Participant
The Precision Creative model draws on Omnicom's global data and technology infrastructure, combining it with local creative execution in Bangkok.
Akkarajindanon described her approach plainly. "My role is not to sit above the work but to be part of how it happens," she said. "To build a team where people feel ownership, where ideas are challenged and strengthened together, and where our clients are part of that process."
Larptanunchaiwong added that clients require a faster, more collaborative partner. "Our clients are navigating more complexity than ever. They need a partner who can think with them, build with them, and move faster with them," he said.
The model connects to BBDO's network-wide strategic direction, which emphasizes creativity, innovation, and AI integration across client challenges.
Bangkok's Senior Creative Talent Market Shifts
The appointment coincides with a broader reshuffle of senior creative leadership in Bangkok. Akkarajindanon's predecessor at BBDO Bangkok, Thasorn Boonyanate, has moved to Ogilvy Thailand as CCO. The two agencies now both have newly installed chief creative officers, reflecting active competition for senior creative talent in the Thai market.
Akkarajindanon's departure from Wolf BKK, one of Thailand's most creatively recognized independent agencies, also signals movement at the top tier of Bangkok's creative talent pool.
Industry observations from 2025 note that Asian creative leaders are contending with tighter budgets, faster digital channel migration, and the need to produce platform-specific content at scale. These conditions make the traditional model of a CCO reviewing finished work at the end of a linear process increasingly difficult to sustain.

Background and Next Steps
BBDO Bangkok's restructuring aligns with its parent network's global direction. The Precision Creative approach is designed to give the Bangkok office access to Omnicom's analytical capabilities while maintaining local creative fluency, a combination that network agencies cite as a competitive advantage over independent shops.
Akkarajindanon's elevation to CCO also carries broader significance in the Thai market context. Her recognition as the highest-ranked female creative in Thailand adds symbolic weight to the appointment at a time when senior creative leadership across Southeast Asia has historically skewed male.
No specific campaign timelines or client announcements connected to the new structure were disclosed at the time of the appointment.
